I'm tired, and my shoulders are aching after 6 days and around 1500 miles of driving, so I thought I'd have a nice easy day in the garden today.

So lad and I went off to buy sand and cement, which I've been mixing in batches all day as I build our pond. I think I might just go to sleep and til Monday morning now. I'm spent.

A bit of relaxing labouring then:snork:

1500 miles?:thud: 200 did me in for a day. Hope it was all worth it.

I've miscalculated. 2 and half tanks of fuel at 440 miles per tank. Even my brain is tired.

        More like 1100 miles.

After driving all round the south east, we've also been driving all round the north east too:)

That's still a lot, poor old Gotilda.

As long as you all had a good time:)

Gothilde/Gotilda is fine. She's been enjoying the drive as much as the rest of us. She normally only gets to tootle about short distances, she's in her element on the open road.

I hope you had a good time at Legoland. On the news yesterday they said that they had to close the place because it got overcrowded. So people that had bought tickets in advance had been turned away!!!

Thanks. It was ok. It was utter chaos though and when we arrived, they were turning cars back if people didn't have pre-booked tickets.

Armandii has a point. Shoulder pain from the 'physical exertion' of driving a car with power steering and an automatic gearbox...

I'm going to work on my shoulder muscles a bit I think:loll:

I would guess that the shoulder pain is tension from having the family in the car. I don't get the tension when I drive 300 miles non-stop to the Lakes as Mrs Shiney sleeps all the way :heehee:

I was thinking it could be the 10 to 2 driving position I adopt, which was the only comfortable position in my last car. Big comfy Volvos enable you to rest your arms on your lap and steer with one thumb, which I do when I remember, but old habits and all that.

Of course it could also be that the weekend before, my dad asked me to dig over half of his allotment for him, and I didn't fancy spending two days doing it so I worked until I was physically unable to continue:)

I know that the door arm rest on mine is positioned just right for me to be able to rest my elbow on it whilst still holding the steering wheel properly. Leaving me quite relaxed but still in full control. :blue thumb:
