Those radish look great Capney, and you will be munching on your toms before long.

That iris is beautiful, what variety is it?

This is the result of a small basket of plants planted in my pond several years ago. It will shortly be a blaze of yellow as well as the Iris in bloom

Well done, Robert. My radishes are pants and my Spring onions didn't even make a show! As you know, I had my first cherry tomatoes yesterday and today I plucked and ate my very, very first ever Sugar Snap Pea .... crunchy and delish! My sweet corn is hanging in there up on the deck so we shall see later in the year on that score.

I'm just soaking some Mung Bean seeds to start off tomorrow as I fancy doing a nice chicken, lemon and ginger stir fry next week .... you can buy bean sprouts here but ....

    Love stir fry.
I think three years in the far east is to blame for it.
robert ( I wonder if you can stir fry radish? )

Sprouts won't be ready till a week Tuesday. I have bought a jar of mixed Thai salad and I have three jars of Bamboo shoots .... but sadly no water chestnuts (although I have a water chestnut tree) .... but there's a place nearby I can get them .... :gnthb:

Radishes ... hmmmm ..... try it and let me know the outcome .... :D

Your pictures really show how our year differs. I love this sight because you're doing in the veggie garden what I'm doing right now (you might be a tad ahead of me but it's close enough) but the rest of your gardens are light years ahead of mine. My siberian iris are just coming out of the ground right now....I have the one you're showing here but it won't be flowering for another month.

Love your radish and tomatoes.........look at all those baby tomatoes growing along there! Neat!

I seeded different chinese greens this year and they are up and happy. Not long till I'll have bok choy and other things I can't spell or pronounce along with lettuce and radish ready to bless our table. The early things are so appreciated.

I love your pond. Nothing is big and green like that here yet (we are at the fight with dandelions stage) you give me hope for what's to come. ;)

I have just googled "stir fry radish"
    and guess what?
There loads of recipes out there that include radish in a stir fry:gnthb:
Now we know what to do with them other then in salad.
Thanks to greenjeans on your comments. more picture to follow as the jungle blooms..

Great pics Robert. I'm just getting the excitement levels you're feeling, my first pepper is developing, and my first tomato flowers have opened. It's all so hopeful!

    Lovely pics Capney.
Your pond plants look good. We can only seem to get a grassy type of plant to grow. The other things (lillies etc] don't come to anything.
Your toms are more advanced than mine :gnthb:

Wow congratulations! I've never really thought about growing radishes before. I was watching Jamie At Home the other night and he stored his radishes for 3 months in a deep bucket of damp sand, they said that was what farmers used to do before the invention of the fridge and they came out looking perfect! Just a little weird tip that I have poached from Jamie Oliver :).

I'm quite jealous of the pond. We won't bother with one until my daughter gets a bit older (I literally just need to blink and she is doing something dangerous) but I am really looking forward to having one when she gets a bit older!

For 3 months? Wow that's worth trying. I wonder how you'd have to treat the sand to make it usable? I couldn't buy it here that's for sure but there's lots of it around if I could get a hint. Maybe Ill google for an answer to that one. Thanks for the tip!
