I've got a thyme plant in a tub and it's gone to look very scruffy :frown: How far back can I cut it ?

If it's woody at the base, it's probably not going to sprout new growth from there.

I'd go as far down as possible but not to the woody part, and strip the cuttings of lower leaves and try rooting them to start again. Half of the cuttings in a glass of water, half in a pot is a good plan.

Creeping types might also sprout from beneath the soil if you cut them hard back.

    Good luck! :)
