hi all, I have bought a tree for my garden and after much deliberation I fell in love with the Tibetan cherry with its peeling bronze bark :wub2: and bought it from a online nursery..... And hubby is refusing to let me put it in the ground cos it grows to 10m ....slight oversight on my part:whistle: can it be grown in a pot?? And how big are we talking ?

I think most things can be grown in containers, including trees (although I haven't tried a Tibetan Cherry). The size of the container will dictate how big the tree will grow as it will restrict growth. It should be root pruned every couple of years once you reach the final container size.

I've had a Malus Royalty in a planter for the last couple of years and it's doing well.

I think hubby will be in his coffin before it gets to 10 metres! I saw one at the Dorothy Clive garden and it wasn't anything like that! I'm sure it's been there for years. Tell him to stop werriting, and plant it in the ground while he's out!
