I took Friday and Monday off work to make it a long weekend in order to tame a shrub bed I have running alongside the front garden.

First I trimmed about 7 feet off the forsythia to make it into a kind of hedge.

Then I removed all the suckers around the lilacs, cut down a quince and the hedge along the front. All has now been through the shredder and I have some root removal and digging to do, then I can decide what to plant.

The neighbours will get a surprise when they get home.
