Hi All I am sure I read somewhere on forum about some of you doing your own tiling. I have done tiling before but only used a wet tile cutter. This has now died so decided to buy a dry cutter as they are supposed to be very quick & accurate on straight cuts.
I am only putting up 330 x 250 ceramic tiles so in reality I do not need a really good cutter but that is not how I think.
I prefer to buy a better quality to start with so it will last. Been looking at either a second hand Rubi TS-40, 60cm cut (about £100 s/h). Brand new Rubi 40 or 50N Plus (40-50 cm cut) (£70-80). The other cutter is a Bellota Pop 60, 60cm cut (£81.96).
Saw the Bellota in Tileflair and it look very sturdy & well made.I was thinking if I got the bigger cutter,60cm it would be ok for any future jobs.
Just wondering if anyone has used any of these cutters or got any views.

I've got a Stanley Manual dry cutter, it's the main tool I use for all my tiling jobs. It's much quicker and easier than using a wet one, although I do have one of those too for cutting thicker floor tiles and any tiles that need corners or odd shapes cutting out of them. Mine wasn't expensive, around £20 to £30 and I reckon I've tiled 5 bathrooms/kitchens with it without any issues. It has a replaceable cutter/scorer but I have never needed to change it. Unless you are tackling lots of very big jobs I'd just stick with a new one like this:

Thats exactly the way I think as well. I've no experience with the Rubi, but the one I use is a Sigma 6. Its the one all of the pros here use.

One thing that you may not be aware of. Certain tiles, such as some outdoor ones must be wet cut.
