    Hi everyone.

I thought i'd introduce my two pets doing what they do best ...

    Bunty ...

    Boots ...

They're both Manx cats. Bunty is a girl and has no tail and Boots is a boy with a little stump of a tail.

I didn't set out to get Manx cats. They were looking for a home and were free.

    Ant.

Hello Anthony, Bunty and Boots. :)

I have two cats, one black (English, 12 years old) and one black and white (Portuguese, nearly 2 years old). I think both of mine may be in siminlar positions at the moment .... but it is 37 degrees.

Very nice! they sure look happy in this world! Boots face looks very funny in the picture. Yep, cats have a wondrous ability to claim all available space, and shove you out of beds chairs and sofas, amazing for such small creatures. I think they use the Force.

My cats have a way of walking between our feet that offten gets a tail underfoot, with much drama and noise involved, I guess Manx have an advantage there ;)

I have had two gorgeous manx cats in my time Ant - they are great!

I have had 2 rumpies - one just with the same colouring as your Boots called Sylvester (a girl!)

Nice to see them doing what they do best!

Thanks for the lovely comments everyone. Unfortunately, Boots came in with a badly cut foot last week which means he's had regularly trips to the vets every other day to get his bandages changed (At £30 a time!) and is on a course of antibiotics.

The colour of the dressing changes each time. Here's a picture of him attempting to make green look tasteful. :D

My first vet job was on the Isle of Man Ant - you can imagine how many Manxies I got to treat there!

Unfortunately, some suffer from the Spina Bifida gene which makes them tailess, far too much and had problems with hindleg action or incontinence due to the spinal cord ending too soon :(

Re Boots... Sorry to hear he had been in the wars!

Hopefully soon, the dressing can come off and the air can get to it and help the pad heal. After a week or so, I would often take off the dressings and put on a buster/elizabethan collar to keep the cat from licking at it and ask the owners to keep the cat indoors so the foot would stay clean and dry. Air seems to heal these cuts very well - but I agree a dressing is needed in the early days. Don't forget to finish the whole course of antibiotics!
