I have a lawn that was attacked by leatherjackets and had drainage problems resulting in a great deal of wild grass and bald patches. Any suggestions regarding easily germinating seed that will help re-establish. I had kids and live in the country where there is a lot of seed and silage blowing about in summer so I don't want a billiard table, just something tidy. i have heard if 'italian' seed that germinates easily, any ideas anyone. justin

Hmm, sounds like Italian Ryegrass to me - not something you want to try and grow a lawn out of ;)

Dwarf Ryegrass germinates quickly, and is very wear tolerant, but as its name suggests, it doesn't grow like an agricultural crop.
