We planted a couple of climbing roses in July this year. They were about 5ft when we bought them, now they are around 8ft and still have a couple of flowers and buds on them. I was told that i should wait a couple of years before pruning in order to allow the plants to establish themselves. In the meantime is there anything i should be doing to help them along, or should i just wait for when they are pruned? Thanks.

Good morning John if they were already 5ft high which is unusual when purchased then I assume they are already of an age,a photo would be most helpful and the name of the two Roses, how tall do you want the Roses to grow,my advice is to wait until March to prune, but usually tidy up etc. is done ,if you could give us more information we could give you more in depth answers:smile:

Thanks Wise Owl. Please bear with me while i try to locate some pics and something that will indicate the name. Our intent is to train these roses around an arbour. There is a rose plant either side and in time they will probably cross over one another
