I recently cleaned out the greenhouse with Jeyes Fluid, I have rinsed it out well. Will it be safe to put the resident toads back in now that the smell of Jeyes has almost gone (they look a bit sad in a bucket). They are forcasting cold weather nearer to the weekend so I want to get them back in ASAP but dont want to harm them.

    Thanks in advance

    Dave

Should be OK Dave. Let them in before the cold gets there.

At the same time, I am not an expert on toads. Particularly where frogs and slugs are concerned. Ask Geoff.

I suggest you put some stones etc. in though for them to crawl under. If cover is still there - no problem.

I presume these are Common Toads which would normally be hibernating outside. They will be ok in the greenhouse but the fluctuating temperatures might stop them from hibernating properly. They would need to be able to get out in order to breed by march. [IMG]
