I did a ziggy and pulled out some healthy veg to put on the burnt patch of grass:loll: (sorry ziggy:phew:)

I wanted baby corrots from the outset, I hate slicing them so wanted just to wash them, today I started pulling a "few" after topping and washing I ended up with 5 lbs to go in the freezer:happydance: the real little ones are going in my frozen home grown mixed veg bag as are the spring onions.

I'm starting to like this growin marlarky:cool:

lol yes, the mother of the mother of the lad being christened wanted to try some home grown veggys (even tho we had endless amounts of cooked food) I picked her a couple of everything, washed/cleaned and cut it for her, she munched the lot:yess:

Tho I'm not surpised homegrown tastes good, what I'm surpised at is the smell of it all, I think shop bought veg has lost its smell and thats prob a large part of the flavour.

Tho I did find washing 5 lbs of baby carrots a bit of a bore tho, then I remembered I had a duaghter:dbgrtmb: she's tied to the sink as I type:WINK1:

        :D:thumb: Most Excelent PP:thumbsup:

Nothing wrong with doing a Ziggy, just don't end up like me :heehee:

You are right, the fresh stuff is far better than the stuff in the shops, supermarkets aren't concerned with vitamin content or aroma, unless its an artificial one to try to get you to buy something:DOH:

If they were concerned about freshness they wouldn't be using growth inhibitors and irradiation to increase shelf life.

I'm not knocking the supermarkets for doing that, after all, they have a business to run & we all appreciate food being available. We all have our methods of preserving food too, but, as you say, there is nothing like fresh picked veg. Except Cucumbers:heehee:

Thanks ziggy, the carrots will inspire me next year to get out there early and plant three times as many, I've got the ground if I plan it out properly, I grew the carrots in an "eratic trench" I've got photo's and will post up later, I'm in a rush coz I gotta pop next door for a birthday drink, the lass next door always forgets my burpday but rang to remind me it was hers today, I've got a spare card in the draw, and as god is my whitness I'm gonna wrap her one of those home grown cucumbers:WINK1: will be interesting to see if she can guess what I got her:heehee:
