after cleaning out my shed i noticed that mice had been in my fishing basket chewed my fishing hat and had eaten the cushions off the sunloungers to make a nest even though i dont have a problem with mice it has become an expensive hobby for them at my expense.so i took a local farmers advice and got 2 mouse traps covered them in peanut butter and in the last 4 weeks ive sent 10 mice to heaven.is this going to be an all year round problem or will they not nest again till next year ive done everything to stop them getting in so ive got no option but to send them to the makers [IMG]

Only if you can catch them faster than the little breeders breed IP. (Or is that faster than the little bleeders bleed) :D

    Mr Mac says:
Prevention is always better than cure. If you think your shed is impenetrable by the mice - check again! Mice can gain access to your shed through any hole equal to or larger than the diamater of a pencil! Mice are attracted to the relative warmth, shelter & safety of your shed, and it's surprising what they can survive on eg the family of mice we had stay for a short visit were more than happy to dine on wax crayons & pot-pourii in our attic.
Remove ALL possible food sources, fill ALL holes, then lay traps. Chocolate, as well as Peanut Butter, which you've tried, are two of the best baits for traps. Failing that a hungry ferret enjoying a weekend break in your shed will eat mice like jelly-babies!
    Good luck!

Do you have fields around you where you live? They sound like field mice that you have.Since moving out to the sticks six years ago we have had our fair share of mice, but since we have got two cats the numbers have dropped off quiet a bit.

The thing I don't like is Willow brings them upstairs while we are trying to sleep and cries this horrible cry to wake us up and then sits there and eats them.It is horrible hearing him crunching on the bones

They have even caught and killed whole families of shrews that upsets me because they are so tiny.

Last night he brought in my Robin that I have been feeding for weeks in the garden. Now that really did upset me [IMG]
