As per Topic Heading, What are your thoughts on the above.

I have, up until last year topped my tomato plants, but then it dawned on me, that by doing this, your Tomato production stops, so this this I am training my plants along a cane which is suspended from one of the frame tubes in my polytunnel, hopefully extending their growing season and getting more fruit from them.

Obviously, by doing this, they'll need more feed, but I do not mind this if it works.

Worth not topping them in a tunnel, usually limit outside ones as the season isn't long enough :)

In a tunnel I stop beefsteaks (as they take flippin ages) but leave all the cherry toms to grow on for as long as possible.

Difficult to show as they are quite a tangle, I train mine to the apex of my greenhouse ...
