Tomato harvest today

    Apologies to those that have lost their crop because of the dreaded blight,,,
    This was my crop today

    This second picture is two of the smaller Amish toms, There are bigger ones still on the vine just turning.

    Nice crop.
    What's the verdict regarding taste etc on the Amish toms?

    Dave.
    Full report probable later today when I demolish the bigger of the two above.
    We have already used a few smaller ones but I reckon they were slighly inmature.
    Those two are the first serious looking tomato.
    They are growing outside and appear to be a late in the season ripening fruit.
    They may do well in a greenhouse but will need space.
    Not to many fruit to one plant and about four to five to a truss.
    The stem on the plant is like a tree trunk and because of the weight of the fruit I have been adding extra support over the last few days because of the wind we have been seeing in these parts.
    I shall take some general pics this morning for your education.
