How do I look after this fella please? He seems to be growing more bush like, spread out than my other 2 tomato plants.
Should I be pruning or anything or just leave him to get on with life?

This plant has been sitting in a terrible garden centre its entire life and needs some serious lovin. Firstly remove all the egg shells. If you are trying to add calcium then I get it, but you need to crush them up REALLY FINE and blend them with the soil. Sitting half a humpy dumpty on the top of the pot adds nuffin. You then need to drive all growth up through a central stem. Pinch out all those shoots that are growing in between the main stem and side branches. Be ruthless. I can see at least one that is as big as the main stalk. Re-pot it in some good compost (with eggshells if that's what makes you happy) and keep it in the light and warm. (do you have a greehouse?) You'll be lucky to get much from the poor little blighter this year but consider it a step on the learning ladder of life. Heritage sub artic plenty is an 'heirloom' variety which is fine but will lack the strong genetics that have been bred into modern varieties to help it thrive.

The eggshells are to deter slugs... apparently :dunno:

Yep, fair enough. Slugs are unlikely to be a major pest for your tommies though. Hope it all works out for you
