Oh dear. It sure looks like it. That's worrying. I wasn't going to start spraying with copper for another couple of weeks yet. Just heard on the radio that the met office have officially cancelled the barbecue summer, so maybe with all the wet, the blight is moving in early this year.

gerkin, if it was blight then the leaves will be affected first not the fruit. If its just the fruit affected then I'd say it was something else.

I'm getting the first signs of blight!.. so it's not too early to start spraying with a copper fungicide!

Certainly looks like blight. I sprayed our outdoor toms for the first time yesterday. I lost the lot last year so am keeping fingers crossed.

    This is not good.
Like Dave I lost loads last year and I have never used copper.
    Maybe its time I did.
Anybody got any recommendation as to the best product to use?

I used Bordeaux mixture (copper suplhate) last year Capney, it certainly stopped the blight getting any worse. The other alternative is Dithane although that isn't considered 'green'.

I use mMurphy's Traditional Copper.. on Tomatoes

Dithane I use on Potatoes.. But it isn't green... and you can't harvest within a week of spraying

I have just been out on another errand and headed for the GC nearby, but, so much traffic on the York bypass I did a turnaround and headed for home.
Why is it on a Thursday at 15:00 all the cars are on the York bypass in the pouring rain???
Now looks like like a trip out tomorrow morning.
Thanks for info Dave and Quercus

Who sells it these days? I only seem to see Murphys in the shops.

Ok I was just being lazy. Just found it under the Vitax brand name at Amazon. Is there anything to choose between this and Murphys, because I haven't found the latter too great.

Apparently people who bought this item also bought the complete Steptoe and Son, The Snowman, and a Sandisk ultra 4 Gb CF card. Obvious really.

Obvious indeed. Amazon has shed loads of them this week, and wants to get shot of them!!
