I am a new boy to this forum.

I like to grow a wide variety of tomatoes from salad sizes to the monstrous provided they have outstanding taste.

I have seen elsewhere on the site mention seed swaps and am interested in participating. It’s the first time I have done this, so I only have a few seeds to swap but they might be of interest to someone. If this experiment is successful, I’ll save many more seeds of more varieties in the future.

I have a few of these available and would swap in units of 5 seeds.

    Azoychia
    Carbon
    Coir de Bure
    Datterino
    Flame
    Golden Sunrise
    Indigo Blue Beauty
    Indigo Cherry Drops
    Marmande
    Omars Lebonese
    Piccolo
    Purple Cherokee
    Purple Dog Creek
    Raspberry Oxheart
    Zlatlava

All are 2022 or 2023 seeds.

I am interested in trying any of these varieties if anyone wants to swap some of their seeds.

    Better Boy
    Lemon Boy Plus
    Lemon Brandywine
    Pink Berkeley Tie Die
    Sart Roloise
    Stupice
    Ozark Sunrise
    Lucid Gem
    Alices Dream

If anyone would like to try any of these varieties please PM me (conversations) and we’ll work something out.

Finally, I’m open to offers of any other unusual or rare varieties you might have. Suggest away.

    Thanks to all contributors GC.

I am interested in trying a couple of new ones next year.

I have Gardener's Delight 2005 strain which is my favourite tangy tomato and quite different to the bland seeds currently being sold. I don't have many seeds but am happy to swap.

I have made this thread 'sticky' @Fred Clarke

        Thanks for your response, John.

I used to grow GD before the introduction of Sungold which was in the early 90's, I'd guess. Sungold is a great taster but I can't be doing with the splits. That's a roundabout way to say that, I would love to grow the GD and would be glad of just a few seeds to get my own supply of the 2005 strain.

So, what do you fancy? I know you're the resident expert at GC but for me, the best taste was Cherokee Purple closely followed by Ozoyka. Why not try both and more if you fancy? I have learned that the way to do this is to send an SAE for the return of seeds but before giving my address, are we on the personal message section and secure?

I am going to work out what to grow next year, taste is very important to me as well as is blight resistance. Trouble is none of the tasty heritage varieties are blight resistant. I do squeeze in a couple of heritage varieties so I'll let you know when I get chance to work out what I want thanks.

@Balc, will you be sharing seed from your self-sown, sweeter Gardeners Delight? I'd be up for those if available. K

I thought I'd repost my available seeds list here. Mostly, I'm giving away (for postage cost) rather than swapping, as I have literally hundreds of varieties, but here looks like a useful place to keep updating what's available. K

That's fine John. There hasn’t been a rush so you have time to think carefully. Reading other posts makes me realise just how lucky I've been in around 50 years of growing toms. I can only think of one year when I was affected, which must have been 20+ years ago. Long may that continue.

In the hunt for that old GD flavour I will be trying Gardeners Ecstasy from Real Seeds, if they are as good as the sales blurb, I will save some seeds for the following year.

To tell the truth I hadn't thought of saving any seeds - from any of the tomatoes! I've never saved seed from tomatoes as I've sown them afresh every year & often buy new varieties. Nevertheless, as you are interested & there is still fruit on the plant I can certainly save some seed for you!

When I have some to send you I'll PM (Message) you to ask for your address.

                        Hi Fred,
I will have quite a few tomato seed to exchange if your intrested I cannot eat the red tomatoes as they are too acidee ( for health reasons) so I grow whatever different colours I can get
I don't have many seed of each variety though and I'd be happy to swap. I will list my seed here .pm you later.

                          Hi @Purple Streaks .
I only grow one variety of tomato, an old French cordon variety, called Yellow Pear. The plant is inclined to grow quite tall. I grow it against the patio wall, as a climber, zig-zagging it to let it do its thing whilst still being able to pick the fruit! It is a baby tomato, growing no more than 2cm long. They can split it you let them totally dry out, but generally are trouble-free. (Mine have to deal with total neglect for a month in the summer, when we are away…!)
If you contact me via “conversation” to give me your address, I will happily pop some seeds in the post for you :)
