Tomato seeds

Hi everyone,
Just after some advice as a new greenhouse gardener. Live in the Midlands UK, is now the time to grow tomato seeds please.
Looking at a variety called Summerlast as they grow with no pinching out required.
Anyone grown these please- any advice gladly received.

Here's the instructions for your variety of tomato.

 

I start my tomatoes off from seed in the first two weeks of March , I could leave it later if i wanted to.

 

I start sowing the third week in February under grow lights indoors.

As others have said, if you have heat and light ? then late February, but as a first time greenhouse grower even with just a small heated propagator would suggest you leave it still mid to late March.
Think you will find they grow better and stronger as sown too early and you can get weak leggy plants without the ideal conditions.

Is that the only variety you are growing ? seems very small for a greenhouse, more usual to grow cordons, a good choice to start with is Shirley, often better to buy as a small plant from the garden centers.
Another good small variety, primarily to be planted out for the summers, is Tumbling Tom.

You can post future tom questions in this thread, though worth looking at the 2019 version to see how others, beginners and regulars, did with their Toms and which varieties they preferred.
