    Hello,
Can anybody please advise on what's causing these marks. Tomato is Alicante, seems to have grown well but many are now getting these marks, which feel rough to the touch. NW England, and someone said it might be colder weather doing it. They are also very slow to ripen. Mostly grown in pots in a plastic mini-greenhouse thingy, but outside for some of the time. The few that ripened early were good.

Any help appreciated - I am new to this.

Cherry tomatoes (variety Nectar) grown in growbag have done well under same conditions, no problems and all gone now, delicious.

    Thanks for any comments.

I think it is the wild temperature fluctuations at the moment.

Welcome to the forum by the way :)

      Thanks JWK.
Is it ok to eat the skins in that state, do you think? They don't look that great...

      Welcome to Gardeners Corner :sign0016:

Won't hurt you, but you don't really need to eat the skins anyway, just plunge them into boiling water for a minute and then pop them into cold water. Skins will just peel off :)

The skins will probably taste a bit tough, no harm in trying, if you don't like them remove them as Zigs says :dbgrtmb:
