Tomatoes

    Ive sown the first of my toms seeds today, they're all tucked up and covered with a nice bag to keep them warm,
    did this last year and i was glad i did, nice early plants for spring and then they just got stronger and produced some really nice toms,

    anyone tried the russian tomatoe? they're dark coloured skins and so im told very sweet tasting.

    Yes I've grown Russian Black the last few years. They are a very distinctive savoury almost salty taste, rather than sweet. I love them as well as Black Krim which is a bigger tastier variety originating from the Crimea (although last year my Black Krim were wiped out by blight):
