It being almost March, is it too late?

The apple tree is in a neighbour's garden, and they don't know what to do with it; it is quite an established tree, not just a couple of years old, and needs pruning. Can I do it for them now, or should we wait until next year?

I`m still pruning fruit trees Simon, but DON`T do it all in one go. Just take out any dead, diseased or crossing branches for now. Do any further pruning NEXT winter.:gnthb:
