I've had hyacinth bulbs sitting waiting in paper bags since September because my garden centre was out of bulb fibre and then I went away

I have the bulb fibre finally

will it matter that its so late to start putting them in bowls and outside in a dark spot? i usually do it early October

    will it matter?

    Hallo Grai,
and welcome to Gardeners Corner. Mother Nature has a wonderful way of patiently waiting until conditions are favourable. It will be fine to do it now and they have already been spared some soggy conditions so that can only be good news! Hope you enjoy having a wander around, other gardeners will be along to say Hallo before long,

Welcome to the forums, grai :sign0016:

I'm a beginner so can't provide any experienced advice; but, I garden (at this stage) on the principle: plant it and it has two choices, grow or not  Not particularly scientific, but it hasn't been a bad principle so far.

      Hi and Welcome

If you mean for a Christmas display ? yes it is to late to get them into flower but not to late to plant up have then for February / March in the house still time to plant them .
So carry on as you would of done and as soon as you see about a inch poking through bring them in the house and they will romp away.
      Hope this helps.

      Spruce
