Too late to plant out leeks?

    I grew too many spuds and broadies, and didn't get round to clearing a spot for my leeks until yesterday due to family commitments. Am I too late to put them outside now? Have about 50 plants about the size of pencils.

    I'm no expert Ariadae but do grow Leeks which are probably my favourite veg. I'd plant them out, what have you got to lose? They won't get a great deal of time to put on much growth before winter hits in earnest but the ones I haven't scoffed by Spring do continue growing a fair bit come end of March up here in Scotland. Even small leeks are nice to eat so I'd say yes. That said some proper veg grower might tell you different:)

      Mine were planted out at the beginning of August and are still not much bigger than pencil sized, so go for it Ariadae.
