Does anyone know where to get decent topsoil from without paying the `earth` for it (sorry for the pun). I`ve just finished my raised vegetable bed and need an affordable way of filling it. Thank you x

The Local Turf farm is your best bet for screened quality top soil. Usually about Ã?£42 a tonne. [IMG]

Phone around, I can get it £30 per ton deliverd. Otherwise try contacting a groundwork contractor although bear in mind that you may also get subsoil or stone.

Its typical that last year I ended up skiping about 10 tons of good topsoil and over the course of the year paying for a similar quantity!

I checked, although it gets cheaper 2+ tonnes. It's gone up a little bit but still nowhere near that much. 1x1 tonne bag £57.58 including delivery.
