Townsend Nature Reserve, Swanage

    A walk around this small nature reserve revealed hardly any birds at all other than a Whitethroat and some Magpies but there were other things to enjoy. The view for one.
    Swanage bay.

    Spotted Orchids were everywhere, hundreds and hundreds.
    Some were almost white.

    There were a few Pyramidal Orchids just opening.

    Loads of Bees on the Hawkweed and other wild flowers.

      What an impressive display of orchids Strongy. And that beautiful Blue butterfly....:wub2:. I certainly don't regard it as "common"!

      It was windy up there so there were hardly any Butterflies about so the Common wasn't common today:biggrin:

      Orchids seem to be at their peak here also, I only need to walk to the grassy margins of my plot to see these
