Townsend Nature Reserve, Swanage

A walk around this small nature reserve revealed hardly any birds at all other than a Whitethroat and some Magpies but there were other things to enjoy. The view for one.
Swanage bay.


Spotted Orchids were everywhere, hundreds and hundreds.
Some were almost white.






There were a few Pyramidal Orchids just opening.




Loads of Bees on the Hawkweed and other wild flowers.

What an impressive display of orchids Strongy. And that beautiful Blue butterfly..... I certainly don't regard it as "common"!

It was windy up there so there were hardly any Butterflies about so the Common wasn't common today

 

Orchids seem to be at their peak here also, I only need to walk to the grassy margins of my plot to see these

 

I think they have enjoyed the damp cool seasons,
