    Hi everyone
I have had my tree fern in a large pot for 2 years now. It's always looked nice and healthy. I would like to know if and when it is safe for me to remove it and put it in the soil. I have a small, shady part of the garden that I think it would look quite nice in. Would it be a sensible idea to do this in the autumn ? Also what type of soil do they like? I can't remember what I originally put it in.
    Many thanks
    Kelly

You can plant this out at any time of year
Your little shady spot should be ideal
They would not be overly fussy about soil type
Keep it 'happed up' during winter. I lost two established plants this past year beacuse of our much colder than expected winter
