I have just read an online article about growing peas, using trefoil as green manure. I have read that trefoil does not like heavy soil. Can anyone recommend an alternative ?

    Thanks

Vetch and Rye mix grows well on my heavy soil, and produces the best biomass of all green manure crops. Hungarian rye grass quickly draws up the soils nutrients and holds it until you dig it back in (stops it being washed away in winter rain), Vetch (Tares) produces nitrogen when dug back in.
