Does anyone know what this is? It is something that has self-seeded in my flower bed. I think I sprinkled a packet of wildflower seeds around earlier in the year so it may have come from that. It is over a foot across and the leaves are quite leathery.

No it doesn't smell of horseradish - in fact it doesn't smell of anything.

Not certain, but I think it could be Evening Primrose (Oenothera).

It's a possibility, though the leaves don't look quite the same. There are quite a few growing next door. I will go and check their leaves. maybe I have got a mutant one!

After checking the leaves on evening primrose plants on wasteground half a mile away, I think you are probably right, although my plant's leaves are rather more gnarled looking than the others. I will leave it where it is and see if it produces any flowers.
