Hi, some weeks ago I had a Trillium corm? that I ordered from Suttons, I planted it in a clay pot and put pea gravel on the top, and have been watering it from the bottom, but nothing has appeared in the way of growth yet, now I am wondering if I have done the right thing with it. Can anyone help please.

    kind regards Norma.

in my opinion no you havent ,i grow trilliums, they need humus rich soil in shade (woodland area if possible) they cant tolerate drying out so suttons may be at fault ,did you receive it dry ? have a peek for him in your pot replant if possible in to the ground, good luck

Many thanks bambooruth. It came in a plastic bag with fibre like compost, I have had it in a unheated greenhouse until now, I will go and tip it out and see what it is like, I don`t like putting into the ground until I can see some growth, so if it is still alive will it be alright in a pot outside in a shady area ?

P.S I have just been and tipped it out, and it is just begining to sprout a small silvery green shoot and some roots, but it was very soggy so I have repotted it in dryer compost and put it in a shady spot. I think it might be better if I water it not so much from now on.
The variety is Wake Robin by the way bambooruth. many thanks again for your help.

If you really mean that you would send me some trilliums down, I think that would be most generous of you, but I am away on holiday Sat 16th until 25th of this month. so I look forward to conversing with you again when I get back. Many thanks again for your advice, I was afraid to look before I heard from you in case I tipped him out and found nothing I would have been so disappointed. Best wishes. Lizyann.
