I can remember, as a Kid, my Mother sending me every Saturday, with plates, to a Fish and Chip shop to get a plate of Honeycomb Tripe in vinegar for her and a Steak and Kidney Pudding,, for me. I've never tried Tripe, nor will I, especially if it's as distasteful as the Tripe that the Politicians serve up for us to "digest".:dunno::coffee:

        I like this bit.
"Give tripe a try! Many people tell us they are put off trying tripe, but there are plenty of new tripe recipes available which successfully mask either its taste, smell, appearance or texture."

Why would anybody want to eat something that they dont like the smell of, dont like the taste of and dont like the texture of?

Sounds like something really exotic like pasta, or tofu.

I'm obviously in a minority as I really like it. Cooked in milk with onions - slips down easily :-)
I've not had it for a year or two since our village butcher who sold it closed.

Quite often folk decide they don't like a particular food, not because of taste or texture but because of preconceived ideas or taught/caught phobias.
A couple of years ago Mrs W and I were eating a plate of mezes (mixed starters) in a Greek taverna. Mrs W pointed to something on the plate and asked "What's that?" I told her it was village sausage so she had a couple of bits and enjoyed them. However when I told her it was pickled octopus she decided she didn't like it anymore!
She's like that too with venison. It's the Bambi effect I reckon.
