Trying to grow grass but...

    A few weeks ago I dug up some old plants with a view to replacing with grass. Having cleared the area, I levelled it, and spread some grass seed.

    The grass is starting to come through...but so are these broad leaved...things. Can anyone tell what they are (weeds, I expect).

    Whatever they are, I suspect I'll be getting busy with the Roundup...

    They could be dandelions. You're better off letting the grass establish before weedkilling. If you spray with Roundup you'll kill the grass too, you'll need a selective weedkiller like Verdone or better still a spot weedkiller like this:

    For selective targeting I've been using this:
    Roundup Gel.JPG
    It seems to be very effective, at both the killing and the selectiveness.
