We bought Tomato plants two weeks ago, last ones in the Centre, and I've put them into a grow bag. Now I discover on the label that they are best set out in hanging baskets!...Anyone had success with them in grow bags or should I just hang 'em?

have only ever grown them in hanging tubs and window boxes i'm afraid! There habit is definately geared to hanging down. suppose you could raise the grow bag up off the floor about a foot or so using a couple of breeze blocks or up turned plant pots????

Thanks Glen, it is an option but I think I'll get out there and pop it in a hanger as I should have in the first place:rolleyes:...Reminder to myself. Read the blinkin Label first:D

I am growing these for the first time this year, how many plants would you recommend putting in a 12" basket?

I grew a couple plants in a hanging basket last year but think I'm not a hanging basket kind of person as I kept forgetting to water them and they eventually keeled over and died while I was on holiday for a week. I managed to get all of 4 tomatoes out of them while they were alive. Won't be trying that again...lol
    Good luck with yours paladin.
