    hello everyone,
    whats the best way to look after newly laid turf ,do i need to add some fertilizer to it? if so, when is the best time?and how long should i leave it before cutting for the first time?

    Keep off it, keep well watered until the roots grow into the soil underneath. No fertiliser need in its first year, unless it was very poor turf and poor soil it was planted on. Cut when the grass is about 2 inches high, making sure that the turf has knitted with the soil.

    Very well summed up Palustris. By not feeding you encourage the roots to look for nutrients in the soil beneath the turf which speeds up the knitting process.
