I've been staying close to home with a lingering virus so not in town too much. Appreciate it if anyone can let me know when they see turf for sale (B&Q and the like) and price.

    Cheers

Don't know price as I didn't read this until I got back but The Range had it for sale on their forecourt. So I guess others will have it in stock as well.

Depending on the size of the area you need to turf it can be cheaper to buy online from a turf farm. As a Gardening and Landscaping company I would reccomend Perfect Turf. B&Q and homebase both stock it for about £3.99 per meter.

Hope you feel better soon. Eden Garden Care.

Fens: I drove to ... The Fens !!! ... to buy mine. Probably quite close to you, forgotten exactly where now, somewhere up near Ely I think. Worked out MUCH cheaper than any other route I found - assuming your vehicle is big enough to get it in and you don't want very much. If you want a lot I would have thought that a curb-side delivery of one/many Pallets would be cheapest.

It was rather bouncy on its Springs on the journey home! I took it slowly to avoid needing to brake suddenly, just in case (although the brakes on the Espace are very "sharp" - I drove a friend's Citroen once, that had an on/off button for a brake pedal!

Thanks all for the suggestions. I've been out digging and hopefully will be ready to buy the turf on the weekend. Sounds to be most everywhere right now so will have a choice. We might even have a The Range in one of the local towns so will have a look there also. Kristen that's quite a haul. I've calculated needing 20-22 turves so not worth travelling too far to buy. I'm hoping it will fit in one haul in a little hatchback.
Dim, don't have the patience for seeding as I've got lots to do on house and garden this year.

Sod's law indeed Ziggy lol.gif (not a smiley person, but a fave of mine).

Well, turfing is all done. Bought both some of B&Q and Homebase as B&Q didn't quite have enough.
B&Q 3.48 and Homebase 3.99 per turf. Got to say that the B&Q was much better quality I thought, not only fresher but the sod base seemed to be more stury and slightly thicker. Got my Homebase stuff at a reduced price as it was not in tip top condition.
If you're buying turf might be worth comparing the two amongst others.
