turfing patches in lawn

    i was thinking of turfing the areas in my lawn which are dead, how hard will it be?

    Better to fork them lightly then rake over and seed, then if no rain keep the areas moist until the seed takes. The weather at the moment is ideal for seeding.

    i need to learn to be patient :(

    i have re seeded and some areas taking others nothing as yet!! i will try to resist the urge to re turf, just seeing a lovely area of green grass and mud isnt nice lol

    Its easy Dawn, ive just done a couple of areas on my Lawn, Lay the new turf where the patches are and cut with a Lawn Edger where you want to patch it, then cut the old grass out with some of the old compost, put new compost in, tread it down with your feet then lay the new turf, make sure you keep it well watered for a week or so and that should be it, done mine a week ago and its took allready :)

    For small areas I do as Pro Guard suggests in post #2.
    To help gremination and to keep the moisture level up, I use small sheets of clear polythene held in place at the corners with golf tees.
