    Hi

My husband works on building sites and today he came home with a load of "top soil" that the turfers were about to skip.

It looks man-made, very fine and VERY dark. Does anyone know what might be in it? Would it be ok to put on the garden?

There are so many possibilities, I think we need a photo to help establish what it might be.

okay. It's raining at the moment, but I'll see what I can get later. My camera is sadly not great at macro photos... even though that is what I bought it for :(

    oh cool :) :) :)

Thanks. I wasn't sure if I could smell a fertiliser or something but thought that would probably burn turf.

Apparently there is a lot more that they are going to skip but I just don't have anywhere to put it!!

My husband told them to bag it up and leave it by the road with a sign, free to a good home. I don't think they realise how expensive it is!!

Heather, grab it with both hands. It`s just likely to be sieved topsoil. Can be used anywhere in the garden.:dbgrtmb:
