We have just got back from a holiday in Turkey . The hotel garden had many lovely plants , but the one below took my eye. Its colours ranged from white through pinks to red. Can someone name this beauty for me please?

    TIA

Vinca it is, it is more popular in the States than here as in warmer climates it replaces Impatiens which struggle in high temperatures.
It is grown here as a patio/pot plant more than a bedding plant which is why it is less well known.

I grew it a few years ago strongy when we were getting some good summers and it was only just happy.
Seen it enjoying 100F plus with no problem.

I also agree it's a Vinca as it's very popular here and I have had a white one for a couple of years .... but I find I have to keep it out of the hot midday sun ... :cnfs: Mine has one flower at the moment .. :hehe:

We have it in the garden in Florida and it just thrives on sun, heat and makes do with water when it gets it. A no-problem plant over there.

Thanks for the ID, guys, as I had no idea what it was called. Kept thinking it reminded me of Busy Lizzies.

Thanks all for the prompt and accurate identification . So it is a Vinca ,Madagascar Periwinkle , and from Pete's and strongy's comments it seems not really suitable for growing in the NW of England. Thats OK I can go back to Turkey to view them ! :thumb:

HarryS, it grows like mad in Kenya too... Just thought I'd give you another destination to add to your holiday list. :-)
