tuylips are not my favourite flower...

... but I like this one. Came with a special offer [very cheap] of 25 tulips, mostly these parrot tulips. I planted in early March!

Aren't they absolutely beautiful.......... shame they never seem to last very long especially if it's windy as it so often is at the time of year they are out.

 

Slinky, your photos really do them justice! I love the way the petals open in threes.
I'm so impressed, I can't wait for the other colours to open.

 

The petals are well-marked enough to be flags
I have one lonely tulip that keeps coming up every year from a 'sale lot' that we got years ago.

 

I had loads in this year, the parrot ones were the best until Arnie lay on top of them note to self - bulbs in pots not in ground :thumb:
