Typing delay

Something that's started to happen recently on my dial-up connection is that the letters I type when making a post are often slightly delayed by a about a second before they appear.
Any diagnosis please? :confused:

Well, I'm no expert but something I always get asked if I have that sort of problem is -
have you cleared your cookies lately - well, it works sometimes.

Thanks jjordie. I haven't cleared cookies. I'm no expert either but I understand that some cookies are needed to identify you to sites you visit regularly (like this one). Wouldn't clearing cookies delete this information?

 

You may need to log in to sites like this one where you have registered as a user, but you'll only have to do it once after deleting cookies. Thereafter the site will 'remember' you again.
