It is a very beautiful shot, a tad oversharpened for my tastes...but great foreground, and very nice reflections.

    My kind of Photograph.

Holehird Gardens is just up and over Kirkstone pass from there Claire, Kirkstone itself is very scenic offering beautiful views from the top. Mind you though..its beautifully scenic wherever you are up here. I constantly have to kick myself to remind myself how lucky I am to live here because of the old saying "Familiarality breeds contempt"...I quite often pass places without second glancing that others would be awestruck by.

Will be coming from Bolton so it will be a tight squeeze to get it all in, in one day.

I understand what you mean-living on the edge of a moor and twenty mins away from the beginning of the Pennines-I like to think we are spoiled rather.

    One Day!!!! s00k - not enough :)

As Steve says, Levens Hall is a good place to visit and is more or less on your way. Another place is Sizergh Castle which is near there. Having said that, you definitely don't want to miss the Lakeland Horticultural Society gardens at Holehird. The gardens have free entry and are superb. The national collection of hydrangeas is wonderful. This is just one of the shots I took after they had only made the hydrangea beds two years before.

I'm sure you will have a great time there :gnthb:
