    As you know Woo, I have a rose bed in progress and feeling the need to keep weeds down I will be underplanting. I will be taking the underplanting literally as the plants I will use will be less than the height of the roses. Why have the roses and not be able to see them? :)

    Thank you Sheal I will also be under planting after talking to other Rosarians at my club, ,I am going to try it this year,as there are quite a few benefits, I am going to use Hardy Geraniums,Pink,Blue and white,and Nepeta (catmint)Walkers Blue,:)

      Good choices Woo. :) At the moment I'm thinking Lavender, Dwarf Irises (a passion for, I developed a year ago), Campanula, for around the edge of the bed and like yourself Geranium's. The list is still being churned over in my meagre brain. :heehee:

      I'm going to give this a try too:dbgrtmb: this year purely by accident a bronze fennel seeded it's self under a lovey lemon rose(sorry don't know the name) but as it grew up and through the rose it did look really lovely:)

          I'm a lover of Ladys mantle ...i know not everyone is ...but IF i actually cut any roses for the house i nearly always put a stem or three with the roses...:wub2:
          And yes Woos post is a classic:dbgrtmb:

            I love Alchemilla Mollis too Loli. It helps bulk up a little posy and looks so pretty always. Such a glorious shade of green.

              I shall be keeping an eye on this because I'm also going to plant out some roses if/when my cuttings grow big enough :)

              I'm not too worried about them not getting enough nutrients, because I'm happy to feed them all regularly to make sure they get their share.
