I get a distinct feeling of déjà vu here.

There are a large number of garden tools with interchangeable heads on the market - a quick trip to any garden centre will show you just how many. Once there, watch what people buy (or don't buy), then seek out a member of staff and ask them how sales of these items compare with with the 'traditional' one tool for one job.

I've filled it in for you. I'm doing a masters at the moment, and I know it can be a bit of a nightmare getting people to fill in questionnaires and so on.

I probably wouldn't be in the market for what you're suggesting. but, I did mention that I'm tiny. Only 4'11", and most tools are made for much taller people. I'd like a range of tools with smaller handles. There is a limited range for older children that would probably be about right for me, but I bet there are loads of women 5'2" and under who might have similar issues. I have seen women's spades somewhere, but not much else.

    Wolfgarten have it covered already.

Rachel, you could be onto something about spades and forks though. An adjustable height tubed handle would be easy enough to design and manufacture.

My daughter has an adjustable handle on her brush and fork - but they're designed for children aged about 3-6ish - so too small for me. But it musch be doable. But probably wouldn't be as durable as a solid handle?
