Unknown fungal disease

    Hi, could anyone identify this diesease? I believe it started on the japanese maple, but has now spread across my garden. The branchs that are affect badly have now died. is there treatment for this? Sorry I got abit carried away with the pictures haha.

    It looks like a form of lichen. I had something similar on my azaleas, a few applications of Dilthane killed it, but it didn't fall off, but comes off if I scrape it.

    It definitely lichen and it dont kill plants.
    The branches that are dead would have died for some other reason
