Unknown orchid

A lady I visited last week would like to know the name of this unknown orchid. She said it has white blooms that grow directly out of the stem. You can see the buds starting to appear.

 

Sorry dont know KG but a very healthy looking plant.

 

Dont know what it is but I would like to see a picture when its in full flower.

 

I think it`s a variety of Dendrobium. Possibly D.infundibulum.

 

Scotkat - yes, it was very healthy looking.

Pete - I would like to see it in bloom too, and she did say for me to come and look and photograph it when it does bloom.

David - I googled the name you said and found a picture which looks just like the one I took, but this had blooms on it - really beautiful! Thanks for ID-ing it.

Came across this today in Wyvale GC.

As I remember it, it was Dendrobium Nobile, flowering directly from the stem.

 

I wonder if it is like on your photo that this lady has, Pete. When I phoned to tell her the name and describe it, she couldn't remember the coloured throat bit.

Mind you,Wyvale are not known for the correct naming of plants, but this had a nursery label.

 

Nurseries don`t always label plants properly, either, Pete.:gnthb::hehe:

 

I've googled nobile and not come up with that particular plant, it seems variable.
But this looks similar.
