I've been craving a burger for days now.

For the first time ever, I have just done something unspeakable.

I took my motor car, and I drove to an intercom thingy where I told the disembodied voice that I'd like a quarter pounder. The disembodied voice told me to drive to the next window, where I paid for my burger without even leaving my car. I then drove to the next window where I was handed a brown paper bag containing my burger. I then drove home and ate it.

That has to be the most efficient way ever of clogging arteries and expanding waistlines.

    It was nice though.

It also wasn't probably a real Burger, and if it had all those squelchy fillings on top that makes it worse.:heehee: I wouldn't call it unspeakable, Clueless, but just giving in to your stomach rather than your sense:snork: I keep a stock of Burgers made by the local Butcher in the Freezer and they're great. I would rather have one of those than one given to me out of "the next window" as I know where it came from and who cooked it...me!!!:coffee:

I have heard that people actually 'enjoy' this 'food', something I have never felt the urge to sample.

            Shame on you!

Funnily enough I made burgers for tea tonight. Mince, onion and cummin seeds for the burger in a crusty roll with Stilton, 'shrooms and watercress. Lordy it was goooood - I fancy another now.

Last time I remember eating one was in Ibiza in about 1983 it was 6 in the morning & I had woken up on the sofa after a strange night & was strangely hungry.

Brothers fridge only had a litre of milk and an ice box where the frost crystals had almost met in the middle.

So after scooping up a pint of ice crystals & pouring the milk into them & knocking that back, I went into town to further satisfy the cravings.

Being Ibiza, there was still a big barbeque type place open at that time of the morning.

I ordered Una Hamborgisa con Todos, it was nearly dinner plate size.

It wasn't enough, a few minutes later I had ordered Osotros hamborgisa por favour:doh:

Think I even had a beer to wash it down too.

Get stuck in Clueless as if you work in the steel industry it may be your last for a while

I've always been repulsed by the very knowledge that drive through fast food places even exist, yet tonight I had a craving:)

The burger was nice, but a long way off being great. If I'm going to have a burger, I usually make it myself from scratch. Proper mince from the butchers, finely chopped onion, herbs and garlic and a bit of flour to help it all stick together. Squeeze it into a ball, pat it flat by throwing it from hand to hand (simply squashing it makes it split), and then grill until done. Serve in a part toasted bun with raw onion and other salad, and a bit of garlic mayo:)

I'm not in the steel industry Jack. My dad and my uncle did that, and from the stories they tell it sounds like hard work. Its easier being a button presser and usually better paid too:)

Judging by my belly, I reckon I've been pregnant for at least the last 10 years.

I was alluding to the big shut down announced by the Indian owners today :-(

I really can not understand Why British (local)steel manufacturers did not get the
millions of tons of steel contract for the new Forth Road Bridge and it went to China ?

The weight and thus the shipping costs must be a fortune
