my wife has a habit of purchasing gadgets which are never used.(she cant be the only one!) in the kitchen we have lots of gadgets. an onion chopper, a juicer, a jet steamer (for cleaning),a cheese slicer/tray, a blender, a george foreman grill/toaster, electric carving knives, measuring spoons and various other electrical items of which i do not know their use:scratch:. i would reckon about 70% of these items have never been used !!
some are still in their boxes:scratch: . then we have the kleeneze/betterwear
(i am not going there!!) i ask "why did you buy that?". answer "it was a bargain"
i am sure there are lots in G.C. who have purchased useless GADGETS:wink:
WHAT HAS BEEN YOUR USELESS GADGETS ??

    music..

    We've all sorts of gadgets.

We had a new kitchen a year ago. We had the top of the range Stoves in-built oven. But my wife has never liked it, as it hasn't a removable roof lining and "stuff" from the last time it was used, tended to drip down on to whatever you were cooking next, as it was impossible to clean behind the exposed element. The manufacturers suggested using a toothbrush.

So to avoid using it more than was absolutely necessary we started to accumalate all sorts of other equipment. (Well she accumulated it, I just paid for it). George Foreman rotisserie and various "counter top" electric cooking appliances.
Last year I bought her a Baumatic oven and dumped the original. This has "stay-clean" sides and a removable roof ling and because I bought it during a January sale, was nearly £200 cheaper than the original. It's so well built, I was amazed.
    She's much happier now.
One of the things she got me to buy was one of these table-top halogen ovens, that'll cook a turkey if necessary. It's three years old and has never been used.

Digressing slightly, we don't have the conventional four-ring hob arrangement.
We've two induction rings. The type that never get warm the heat is transferred very rapidly to the base of the steel pans you have to use and any spills can be immediately removed with a damp cloth as the outer shell is plastic. They aren't expensive and ten minutes after use, you can put them away in a drawer.

I'm not into cooking. I only go into the kitchen to operate my Kitchenaid all "singin' n' dancin'" coffee machine.

    Jings Music - that's a good one.
I'm not much into gadgets - but I do like to cook.
I bought a toastie sandwich maker thing - very cheap. Have tried it twice and after 15 minutes each go never got anything toasted out of it yet.
It just occupies space in my kitchen. Should I just bin it - I think I know the answer but I need someone to confirm it to me.
