Wasn't sure whether this went in general or recycling!! If its in the wrong place, sorry. Does any body do any up-cycling in their garden or plot?

    Pray tell, what is up-cycling?

I sometimes ride my bike up hills. Is that it?

I believe it means to recycle something into a better and more attractive item than the piece of junk it originally was.

I've upcycled old chimney pots into stylish planters, an old butler's sink into a mini garden and an old bike, a builders barrow and an old tin bath into garden ornaments enhanced by beautiful plants.
It's beginning to look like Steptoe's yard round here:)

I "up cycled " an old galvanised water tank into a planter for a bamboo in the front. Painted it black and it looks ace.

Im up-cycling old pallets into a new compost bin and a friend wants me to make a potting bench for her.

I either re-cycle or up-cycle just about anything I can lay hands on. :)
