As some of you may know, one of my darling kitties, Simian, was in an altercation with a car sometime last night.
When I found him this morning, curled up under one of the chairs in the lounge, I knew something was very wrong. He had no movement at all in his hind quarters, and was very distressed. He was admitted to the Vet hospital this morning, and has had tests and xrays today. His one leg was shattered, and he'd dislocated his other leg. They're bringing in a specialist surgeon tomorrow, who will operate to repair his leg. Thankfully they have been able to re-place the dislocated leg, and it seems there are no breaks in that one. He is terribly bruised though, as one can imagine. He's had a little bite to eat, and has had strong painkillers to help him through the night.

They'll be keeping him in tomorrow night for observation after his op, but if it all goes well, he may.. may, be able to come home Saturday evening, or Sunday morning. He's going to need complete rest for quite some time. That he is going to find hard, as even though he's a dinky dot, at just over 2 he's still a lively tyke.
I do have a large dog crate, so he'll have to reside in there for some hours of the day initially, and will only be able to come out under supervision. Poor little mite.

I cried my eye's out when I came home, after leaving him at the hospital today. I felt so helpless that I couldn't take his pain away. Thankfully, I know a wonderful team who can.

Thank you to all who commented on my post in the Latest Moan thread. I wasn't moaning, but just needed to talk to someone about it. Thank you for letting me offload this morning.

Wishing him the best for his opp

Does he like to go in bags at all? as one way my mum kept her cat from using her leg after her paw got trapped in the door is she carried her around in one of the bags for life shopping bags ( not the plastic ones) it mesnt the cat was entertain and not bored but wasnt using her leg.

My cat missy loves it anyway so sometimes I just walk around the house with her in a bag while she enjoys herself. That sounds weird doesnt it

Anyway its just an idea and might help keep him off it and gives him some interest out of the dog crate :-)

                Thanks @SimonZ

@Dips actually, he doesn't mind being carried in a bag, lol. He likes the big Ikea bags, so I can always have a look at that option once he's had a week or so's rest.xx

He's a tough one for a little cat. Our cat flap is set up slightly off ground, so he'd have had to climb through that, and then negotiate two steps up, to get into the lounge. I have no idea how he managed it, but I am so glad he did. My brave lad.
