Hi guys , we have a roughly 60yr old pear tree in the family .
Its been in its current spot for 50years and due to a family members death we are at risk of losing the tree ! And were unable to move the whole tree due to space etc weve focused our attention to trying to take cuttings! Weve failed miserably everytime !!!
If theres anyone that could offer advice or a fool proof method of taking a cutting it would be much appreciated :)
    Thanks

Hi @Soys Welcome to GC.. Not the easiest question to answer as I have never tried it, but have a read HERE it might have some helpful information for you..
It is very difficult when a loved one dies and you know that the garden and memories are going to have to go..

The only other thing I would suggest would be to get in touch with a specialist fruit tree nurseryman and maybe he could identify the species of your spear and you could buy one, that way still keeping the tradition of that pear in your family.. Good luck and do let us know how you get on..

Could you find a local person who could graft it for you this winter?

There are people around who will do this kind of thing, problem is finding them.

A local independant nursey might be able to help.
