I grew some peas in a container last year and wondered if I could use the same container and soil to regrow some more this year? Can compost/soil only be used once?

Use fresh compost - the plant will have used up the nutrients from the last years growth. Stick the old stuff on the compost heap

Could I not mix in some kind of feed though?

Yes, I see no reason why you cant just add more feed. If you have any doubt about disease or things like vine weavil you mustn't use the compost again. But some plants stay in pots for many years, with regular feeding.

Best to use fresh, sterilised, compost for raising plants.

I use my "old" compost to fill tubs and urns, to fill containers for Carrots and Potatoes (but not compost from previous Carrot crops, for the carrots, nor from Potatoes or Tomatoes for the Potato containers).

Anything left over goes on the flower borders, or on the vegetable patch at the end of the season where the same crop has grown - so compost from Tomato root balls, pots or growbags, and from Potatoes grown in containers, goes where the Potatoes have been that year, and the containers with Carrots go where Carrots, Parsnips, Beetroot etc. have finished. That way the compost from containers fits in with my crop rotation.

I reuse the compost in flower containers usually for a couple of years and add nutrients while watering. The flowers still give a wonderful display.
